Dear Mr. Kantor,

On my return from my visit to Ukraine, upon the invitation of President Victor Yushchenko, to mark the 65 th anniversary of the massacre in Babi Yar, I wish to thank you for the International Forum Gathering to commemorate the Holocaust and to praise you on the initiative and the organization of the important events in Kiev to mark the massacre in Babi Yar.

The ceremonies marking the historic events contributed to increasing the friendship and understanding between the two countries and to transmitting the values of the Holocaust and human values to the young generation and they strengthened the fight against anti-Semitism.

Please convey my appreciation to all those who worked together with you in bringing about the success of the events.

I wish you great success in the continuation of your important undertakings on behalf of the people of Israel.

Yours sincerely,

Moshe Katsav
